\nAccording to the report of “Drinking water, Sanitation and Hygiene” of the World Health Organization (WHO), 159 million people in the world meet drinking water from the lowest level of “groundwater” in terms of hygiene.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the report, in terms of hygiene, drinking water is classified as “above ground”, “untreated”, “constrained”, “basic” and “safe treated” from the lowest to the highest.<\/p>\n

According to the report, 5.2 billion people, corresponding to 71 percent of the world’s population, have access to “safe processed” drinking water services.<\/p>\n

In the report, which is stated that approximately 844 million people can only reach “basic” drinking water, 159 million people meet drinking water from “above ground” waters.<\/p>\n

“Safe Processed” water supplies most North America and Europe<\/p>\n

According to the report, the rate of safe treated water in North America and Europe is 94 percent. This rate is 65 percent in Latin America and the Caribbean, 57 percent in Central Asia and South Asia and 24 percent in Sub-Saharan Africa.<\/p>\n

The “basic” level of water is 34 percent in Sub-Saharan Africa, 31 percent in Central Asia and South Asia, 31 percent in Latin America and the Caribbean, 5 percent in North America and Europe. This rate is 52 percent in Oceania, 91 percent in West Asia and North Africa, 94 percent in East Asia and Southeast Asia, and 100 percent in Australia and New Zealand.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, the rate of safe processed water was 33 percent and the basic water rate was 29 percent in developing countries, where there is no limit to the sea.<\/p>\n

In the least developed countries, the rate of safe processed water remains at 34 percent and the basic water rate remains at 28 percent.<\/p>\n

In developing small island countries, the basic water rate is around 82 percent.<\/p>\n
